I am a life-long learner who believes knowledge and communication are intricately linked. Multiple times I have told my students, "What is the point of research if we do not use it?" In this way, all research is applied research.
I am an anthropologically trained applied ethologist who studied the human bond with our companion animals. This led me to view all research as Learning Experience Design. The classes I teach at the university inform how I train dog owners. This in turn informs how I design for animal welfare employees.
It's all connected. It's all communication.
At the end of the day, I am a learner who likes to teach. This can be done in many ways, instructional design and UX research are among my favorite.
